JES Courier is a delivery service primarily conducting business-to-business deliveries, including, but not limited to business documents, medical supplies & products, dental supplies & products, small parcels, and freight cargo throughout Southern California.

JES Courier maximum liability limit is $100 (one hundred dollars) for loss or damage or the actual value of the package contents, whichever is less. We will not be liable for service(s) for which the shipper has authorized JES Courier (either verbally or in writing) to deliver ANY shipment without obtaining a signature. The shipper (or shipper’s agent) will be responsible for completing the JES Courier log sheet at time of pick-up, providing proof of actual loss and complying with all claim-reporting conditions when filing a claim.

In addition, we are not liable for any damages whether direct, incidental, special or consequential, including but not limited to loss of income or profits, whether or not we had knowledge that such damages might be incurred. We will not be liable for your acts or omissions including but not limited to improper or insufficient packaging, securing, marking, or addressing of your shipment, or for the acts or omissions of the recipient. We will not accept liability for items which are not fully enclosed in a carton or proper packing material.

As an authorized agent of an IAC, JES is required to follow the security program 49 CFR Part 1548 introduced by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration). JES Courier reserves the right, but is not required, to open and inspect any package at any time if we determine that such shipment has been tampered with by an unknown shipper or unauthorized shipper, has any indication of being an explosive or incendiary device, would be likely to cause damage or delay to other shipments, equipment or personnel of the Company or if the transportation is prohibited by law.

We also reserve the right to decline shipping the following items including, but are not limited to: illegal goods, cash or cash equivalents, collectible stamps, coins, jewelry, precious metals, original artwork, antiques, or any type of perishable goods, or hazardous materials. It is the responsibility of the shipper to ensure that a shipment tendered to JES Courier does not violate any federal, state, provincial, or local laws or regulations. Under no circumstances shall JES Courier render transportation of any shipment that is prohibited by law.

We will not be liable for loss, damage or delay caused by events we cannot control, including but not limited to acts of God; air, land or sea transportation delays; weather conditions, acts of public enemies or terrorists; war; strikes, civil commotion or acts or omissions of public authorities, including customs or health officials with actual or apparent authority.

All claims regarding damages to, loss or delay of any shipment must be submitted in writing to JES Courier’s corporate office within 15 calendar days of delivery of the shipment; otherwise JES Courier reserves the right to refuse the claim. JES Courier is not obligated to act on any claim until you have paid all transportation charges, and

Service Guarantee

JES Courier will, at its option, refund or cancel shipping charges in the event of a service failure. The following conditions apply:

  1. JES Courier must be notified in writing within 15 calendar days from due date of shipment. The customer account number, tracking or reference number and date of shipment are required in the notification. JES Courier reserves the right to waive any claim(s) received after 15 calendar days.
  2. Shipping charges will be waived or cancelled only for those shipments that are wrongfully delivered by JES employees or that were accidentally omitted by any JES employee.
  3. JES Courier will not accept liability for failing to meet our delivery guarantee due to an incorrect address, the unavailability of the recipient or refusal to accept the shipment by any parties designated by the recipient.
  4. Our guarantee does not apply to non-trackable bulk mail or to shipments delayed by conditions beyond our control including, but not limited to, acts of God, air, land or sea transportation delays, weather conditions, acts of public enemies or terrorists, war, strikes, civil commotion or acts or omissions of public authorities including customs or health officials with actual or apparent authority.
  5. In the event a shipment is not picked up by JES Courier and we are clearly at fault, we will pickup the shipment on the following day at such a time that regular pick up service is available and deliver same-day, free of charge to the billing party.

Weight, Surcharge Policies

Packages sent weighing more than JES’s published weight limitations will be subject to an additional charge of $.40 per pound for every pound over the limit. Please contact a JES Courier for information regarding our Gas Surcharge Policy and Schedule.
